Branch held an emergency general meeting on 23rd July 2026, 1-2pm, to discuss the new ‘focused’ voluntary severance scheme and the professional services development programme.
Towards the end of the meeting, the following motion was also debated and passed:
Motion: Solidarity with London South Bank University UCU
Branch notes that UCU members at London South Bank University commenced a marking and assessment boycott on 13 July and are taking strike action on 20-24 July, following an overwhelming vote in favour of industrial action (61% turnout; 89% support strike; 97% support ASOS). Members are fighting redundancies and protesting at management’s decision to tear up local and national agreements.
Branch resolves to:
- Send our solidarity to UCU members at London South Bank University;
- Make a donation of £100 to the LSBU UCU strike fund.
